AI coach & insights
AI and your data
What's sent to the AI, what isn't, and how to turn features off.
When you use an AI feature, FinTrack sends only what that feature needs, for example recent transaction names, amounts and categories. The coach and most insights run on DeepSeek models through OpenCode. Photos of receipts, checks and documents are read by Xiaomi's MiMo models, also through OpenCode. PDFs, subscription checks and the audio brief use Google's Gemini models. When the assistant looks up a current fact, like this year's contribution limits, it sends only a general question to Google Search, never your personal details.
AI answers can be wrong or out of date. They're general information, not professional financial, tax or investment advice, so double-check anything important with official sources or a qualified professional.
Never sent
- Bank usernames or passwords (we never have them)
- Full account numbers, except as printed on a check image you add yourself (only the last 4 digits are kept from it)
- Your email address
Turning features off
Settings → AI & personalization has a switch for each AI feature. Turning one off stops it without deleting any of your data.
