Bank connections

Fixing a connection that needs attention

Why banks ask you to sign in again, and how to reconnect without losing history.

Banks occasionally ask you to sign in again: after a password change, when two-step verification refreshes, or simply every few months for security.

How you'll know

  • The bell shows a sync failed alert.
  • Settings → Connected accounts shows the bank with a warning.

To fix it

  1. Open Settings → Connected accounts.
  2. Expand the bank and choose Reconnect.
  3. Sign in on Plaid's screen.

Your transaction history, categories, notes and rules all stay exactly as they were. FinTrack picks up any transactions it missed while the connection was down.

Don't disconnect and re-add

Disconnecting deletes that bank's accounts and history from FinTrack. Reconnect is almost always what you want.
